This Saturday (September 18th) the Hartford Colonials will host the Sacramento Mountain Lions in the first UFL game of the season, and officially mark the return of pro-football to Connecticut. The Colonials play an eight-game season, with four games at Rentschler Field. Earlier this spring the UFL had an online contest to name the team (Colonials beat out River Dogs, my suggestion).
The debut of Hartford’s new team also marks the UFL debut of players such as Daunte Culpepper, Ryan Perrilloux, Josh McCown and Andre Dixon. It will also mark the return of former Tusker Taye Biddle, an explosive WR who just moved over from the NFL.
“This community, they had the (National Hockey League’s) Whalers abandon them, they had the (National Football League’s) Patriots at the altar and (they) turned around and went back to Massachusetts,” said Colonials head coach/general manager Chris Palmer. “The fans are accepting us. They will definitely embrace us.”
And with the announcement of entertainment, including B.o.B performing at halftime, ticket sales are ramping up. Fans would be wise to purchase tickets via in order to avoid walk up’s! Individual tickets are affordable and as low as $15.00. Colonials Fan Fest kicks off at 11:30am on Saturday.
Hartford Colonials Schedule:
Tickets: Individual Game Tickets from $15.00, $20.00, $25.00, $30.00
Season Tickets from $60.00, $80.00, $100.00, $120.00

The Convenience of Free and Low-cost Digital Mobile Mammography Screenings Comes to area Women
The SWIM Women’s Imaging Center will offer the following free and low-cost digital mammography screening for women age 35 and older during the month of September:
The latest American Cancer Society guidelines recommend that all women have a mammogram by age 40, and then every year thereafter.
Mammograms are free for those who do not have health insurance, have financial limitations and qualify for assistance. For those who do not have insurance but do not qualify for free services, mammograms are discounted. Appointments are necessary and a physician order and insurance card must be brought to the appointment.
To schedule an appointment or to find out when the mobile mammography unit will be in your area, call St. Vincent’s SWIM Women’s Imaging Center at (203) 576-5500. To schedule a screening site for your office, community center, school or church, call the Mobile Mammography Coordinator at (203) 576-5505.
The mobile mammography program, one of the largest no-cost and low-cost mammography screening campaigns in all of Fairfield County, is made possible through St. Vincent’s SWIM Across the Sound, Connecticut’s leader in cancer education, prevention screenings and support services in the area.
